Porn Addiction Is A Product of Religious Beliefs

It’s all apart of God’s plan

Are you addicted to pornography?

If you said yes, then I’m willing to bet that you believe in God because new research shows that religious people are more likely to believe they are addicted to X-rated pictures and videos

Let me start by saying that pornography addiction isn’t a real thing. I know you might think that you have developed a psychological or physical porn-dependence, but Dr. David Ley (a clinical psychologist and Executive Director of New Mexico Solution, a large behavioral health program) has done some digging on porn addiction research and found that only 27% of studies on the subject use actual data.

That means 73% of porn addiction studies have no hard evidence. C’mon. In academia, not citing sources and not including hard evidence to prove your point should immediately discredit a study. Yet people continue to say that they’re addicted to porn, but why?

According to a new study by  Case Western Reserve University, a belief in porn addiction is closely linked to a belief in God.

Joshua Grubbs, a doctoral student in psychology and the lead author of the study, conducted three surveys where participants were asked to measure their faith, religious practises, online viewing habits, and their perception of addiction.

Grubbs said he expected to find religious people on the whole are less likely to view pornography but there was no difference among those the religious participants who admitted to viewing pornography and non-religious people.

And the relationship between a strong religious belief and believing you are addicted if you view pornography was stronger than expected. Not surprising really, as religion embeds a moral code in people that directly conflicts with their libido and desires. So looking at porn for a short time will create a sense of guilt and addiction is an admission of the guilt.

“The object of the study is not to say ‘Look at porn and it is perfectly fine,’” he said. “It is to get into some of the complexity.”

But be real, Josh, watching porn is perfectly fine. It’s just a form of entertainment. It’s no more addictive than violent movies or trying to smoke a pack of cigarettes in a single cigarette.

Do you really believe that ?

Look you wont realize addictation to porn unless you want to leave it. And relegional people always want to leave masturbation. Thats why they believe this addiction and others dont. From this point, it is like addiction to games. You wont realize it unless you want to leave it.
