Science Says Female Promiscuity Is Practical
I’ve always been opposed to the double standard that our society has imposed on promiscuity. Why should men who have slept with hundreds of women be revered while women who have slept with ten or more guys be shamed?
For years, science has claimed that men can’t help but be promiscuous. It’s just a part of evolution that men need to sow their wild oats and we should just accept that as a fact of life and carry on.
Finally, new anthropological research has shown that it’s not just men who have an instinct to be promiscuous. Women also actively seek out multiple partners as an “evolutionary strategy”.
Brooke A. Scelza, an Assistant Professor in the Anthropology Department at UCLA, has published her study Choosy But Not Chaste: Multiple Mating in Human Females in the anthropological journal Evolutionary Anthropology which finds that women also seek out multiple partners as a part of a evolutionary strategy.
Why is this important?
The Slate said it best when they wrote:
In many societies today, including our own, women who are overtly sexual and pursue multiple male partners often experience moral outrage and “slut shaming” of a kind that is entirely unheard of in other parts of the world. While these cultural attitudes used to look toward science for justification, that position is becoming increasingly difficult to reconcile with the biological evidence.
So ladies, if you want to seek out multiple partners, don’t let some idiot man tell you you’re a slut. You’re both sluts because it’s in our genetic makeup to preserve our species by fucking just about anyone we want.
