Barbara Palvin is a 20 year-old Hungarian fashion model whose new nude photos further blur the line between fashion and porn.
Seriously, if someone had told me that these new Barbara Palvin nude photos were from her Met-Art debut, I’d believe it. But that’s just the state of fashion nowadays.
Remember that game, Fashion or Porn? Well if these new Barbara Palvin nude photos had been included into its system, I bet they’d cause a whole lot of confusion.
Ultimately, I think the reason fashion and porn are so hard to differentiate between is because they’re basically the same thing. Fashion is obviously more acceptable and self-important than porn, but just look at the etymology of the word pornography. Pornography comes from the Greek “pornographos” which translates to “writing about prostitutes.” Obviously it’s easy to make a connection between pornstars and prostitutes, since they’re both having sex for money (and a lot of pornstars also escort to make ends meat).
But if we look at the etymology for the word “prostitute”, we see that the origin is from the Latin “prostitut“, which means “exposed publicly, offered for sale.” Wouldn’t it be fair to assume that all models, adult and fashion, are exposed publicly and offered for sale? Adult models sell their sexuality for purposes of arousal, whereas fashion models sell their sexuality, youth, unrealistic beauty, and to a lesser extent arousal for the sake of a brand or conglomerate. Did I just blow your mind or is this the dumbest thing you’ve ever heard?
That’s how I see it anyways. Which is exactly why this blog loves hot fashion models like Barbara Palvin as much as any pornstar. They’re both selling arousal, but the fashion models are doing it with more subversion.
Speaking of arousal, all this philosophizing must be a huge turn-off. Allow me to make it up to you by offering these Barbara Palvin nude photos from Marie Claire Italy:
