The “Porn” key is virtually useless on South Korean computers

Sometime during the summer, we saw a little music video that totally knocked our socks off. It was a catchy little K-Pop song that grew up to be the world’s most popular video.

Like the rest of the world, we fell in love with Gangnam Style and by proxy all of South Korea. Yesterday however, our love affair with South Korea has turned sour.

It seems now in South Korea there are more than 800 volunteers called “Nuri Cops” (translation: Net Cops) made up of university students, IT workers, professors, and housewives searching the South Korean Internet to remove all porn.

Sorry but volunteering, snitching, and no porn are three things that we just can’t get behind.

U.K. citizen in display of patriotism

Good news for U.K. citizens, you may not have to emigrate.

In a response to the public consultation to enforce an internet-porn filtering across the nation, major ISPs including TalkTalk, Virgin Media, and British Telecom have said that porn is ineffective and technically will not work.

The ISPs submitted papers to the Department of Education that reassured everyone that children’s safety was a concern of theirs but the solution would not be a filtering system. They believe a parental control “active choice” would be the most beneficial.

It’s too bad that the ISPs won’t just support sites like Sex.com, but we’ll take it.

People of Iceland would rather watch their flag fap (sic) around

England has proposed an internet pornography opt-in system, if Mitt Romney is elected as President of the United States he is promising to crackdown on obscenity laws which could affect internet pornography, and Palestine has banned internet pornography all together. What is the world coming to?

Yesterday, the Sex.com Blog found out Iceland is in danger of depriving their citizens of the only good thing in their bleak little lives. Instead of enjoying high quality adult entertainment, the Icelandic people would be forced to walk around in wool sweaters, overlooking beautiful countryside while Sigur Ros or Bjork plays faintly in the background.

Unlike the other three motions to limit internet pornography, Iceland’s decision is being proposed not by government officials or lobby groups but internet service providers (ISPs). Vodafone and Siminn are considering blocking access to adult sites to keep users safe from viruses and malware.
