A gorgeous busty redhead who loves to give blowjobs is just too good to be true, right? Not so. Camille Crimson is as real as they come. She is that gorgeous busty redhead who loves to give blowjobs that we’ve all dreamed about. Except she’s slightly better than any redhead we’ve ever dreamed up because she’s also a francophone. Speaking French always scores a lot of sexy points.
Camille was nice enough to take some time out of her busy schedule to talk to us about running her own websites, being an independent porn star, and blowjobs.
So without further ado, let’s get to the Camille Crimson interview.
Montreal has had a pretty bad winter this year. How have you survived it?
We went away to Miami for a while… It was just what we needed! I do love winter, and think that the snow is very pretty, but getting away from it for a bit makes it easier to tolerate.
Have you ever considered moving to LA to be closer to the industry?
Not really. Montreal is my home. And besides, we just shoot by ourselves, so we don’t need access to directors or cameramen or performers. It’s a completely different way of making porn.
Dolorem was the first one. It’s now archival, but it features three years of updates focused on a really wide variety of erotic photography.
The Art of Blowjob was our first site including video, and it’s when we decided to specifically stick to blowjobs. It has an archive dating to 2007, so there are lots of updates. It’s just showing the beauty of blowjobs in a relaxed, sensual way.
Then Slow Motion Blowjob is the new site, which has the same approach to blowjobs, but show in a different way. It’s really focused on the seductive, almost hypnotic quality that comes out when you really slow things down and enjoy every detail and little moment.
How much input do you have in the editing/filming of the scenes? Is it mostly Mike Flirt or is it a collaborative effort between the two of you? (FYI, Mike Flirt is Camille’s partner.)
We’re always quite collaborative. I tend to edit the photos while he edits the videos, but we certainly talk through things and bounce ideas off each other. We like to do things together.
What’s your opinion on this new(ish) genre, “couples porn”? Do you and Mike take credit for the style? (Because it does seem like “couples porn” is biting your style.)
I feel like “couples porn” is more about making porn for couples and less about being real couples making porn. What we make is definitely appropriate for couples, but also for single people… We have a really diverse audience and we don’t want to limit or target them specifically. We’re just doing what we love and we’re lucky that a lot of people really like it!
You write the code for the sites, score the music, run a blog and a Tumblr. And that’s not even counting gaming. How many hours a day are you at your computer?
HA! I don’t even want to think about it, especially now that I’m hooked on rewatching X-Files on Netflix. I do get away to exercise, cook, spend time with the people in my life and get some sunshine, but realistically speaking, it’s a fair amount.
Though it’s time consuming, would you still want to run your websites and perform in scenes if it wasn’t such an independent operation?
Probably not. The reason we love what we do is that we have control over it. I don’t want to feel pressured to be aroused on command so I can shoot when I’m not in the mood. I don’t want to be coerced into showing more than I want to show or doing things that I don’t to do just because of what they think sells.
I’m so much happier shooting at home with my boyfriend and then going out for lunch after. It’s a relaxed approach that makes the results much more erotic.
You and Mike perform together exclusively. Would you ever shoot another couple for a scene?
We’ve definitely helped other people develop their shooting style for their own sites, and we’ve also shot a couple of updates with one other woman as a part of a threesome blowjob. It was a very erotic experience.
Has Mike Flirt ever declined a blowjob?
Not that I can think of! We’re usually quite connected, so we know when we’re collectively in the mood.
You two hint at doing all sorts of things in your personal sex life. May we know what kinds of things?
Nothing too terribly wild and crazy… We just want to make it clear that we don’t just enjoy blowjobs. He’s great at giving too, we have lots of sex and sensual experiences together.
How many scenes have you done that feature sex? How does it compare to shooting just blowjob scenes?
We shot some sex for Dolorem, which is all photography. That made it a bit easier to capture. When it comes to shooting sex in videos, there’s a bit more of a learning curve and there are certain angles (specifically close-ups) that aren’t very natural. So, some blowjob videos have a little sex, but it’s not what you expect of mainstream porn. It’s more for erotic effect than for extremely graphic shots.
Between the three sites, how many blowjob scenes have you done in your career?
Well, sometimes we will shoot photo sets while the video camera is running… I don’t know… Maybe 300 or so? Obviously that’s not counting what I’ve done off-camera…
Are you ever worried that you and Mike might run out of scenarios?
Not really. We don’t create elaborate back-stores for what we do. We just feed off of a mood or inspiration or moment… These are never-ending resources!
If you had to pick one thing that makes a blowjob good, what would it be?
Passion. If you’re just phoning it in, people can tell. Find a reason to be excited and aroused by the idea of giving pleasure and everything will be so much more intense and wonderful.
Other than yourself, who gives a good blowjob?
Anyone who is enthusiastic and actually cares about giving pleasure.
One question I’ve resisted asking is, “Why blowjobs?” Especially after finding this answer to the very same question in your Frequently Asked Questions: “Blowjobs are often represented as degrading, violent or just the appetizer to other kinds of sex. No one was really focusing on the skill, sensuality and beauty involved in the blowjob, so we wanted to give it the respect it deserves!” What would you tell someone to reassure them that blowjobs are not degrading, violent or just an appetizer?
Take a look at the sites! The main thing is that you’re in control of what you’re doing. If you don’t want things to feel a certain way, make that clear and find a way to give the kind of blowjob you want to give. And vice versa. Communication will get people on the same page about what they want. If they want something more sensual, balanced and respectful, all you need to do is have that in mind while you give/receive the blowjob and act in kind.
Have you guys ever considered making a fourth site that is focused on a cunnilingus niche? As far as I know, one doesn’t exist yet. Is the niche too small or do you think it could work? Men need to know that oral sex is not degrading to them.
It’s a nice idea in theory, it’s just not easy to film and Mike isn’t as enthusiastic about having his face on camera as I am. The niche is definitely there, I’m just not sure it’s our focus… But you never know.
Just in case someone hasn’t heard of it, can you please explain poutine to the world?
Fries, gravy, cheese curds… It tastes much better than it sounds. It’s a staple food of Quebec.
Where’s the best place to get it in Montreal?
I’ve tried a number of places over the years, but none have stood out as the absolute best. I’ll have to try more and revisit some, I guess… Maybe La Banquise…
Everyone always says La Banquise…Big thanks to Camille, Mike, and S.D. for making this happen. Connect with Camille on Tumblr. Or on Twitter. Read Camille’s blog. Don’t forget to check out her sites either! The Art of Blowjob Slow Motion Blowjob Dolorem
